MUTANT SOLIDARITIES

$0.00

Tina Darragh's major late work, made, for the first time, available widely and, also, in a comprehensive critical edition with notes and three appendices featuring additional material integral to the umbrella project it was a part of.

"Mutant Solidarities" is a set of poems, plays, quotations, and meditations about the crises we live within ecologically. It especially turns its eyes towards those manufactured disasters (and attendant disasters) produced specifically within the Western world, and, with that, the United States.

Tina Darragh's concerns towards nuclear contaminations and traumas has been present in her writing since her first publication, My First Play, which she published under her own imprint, Dry Imager, in a dos-a-dos edition with Michael Lally. Throughout her subsequent career, Darragh has navigated the variety of technological frustrations the human and non-human animal faces, while herself undergoing significant evolutions in ecological awareness (she went from belief in human sovereignty as protector of animals to belief in an immersive reality with the ecological surrounding as one, and not one of a hierarchy beyond tragic and intentional detriment to the natural).
